Commonly found in commercial office spaces and modern new build homes, veneered doors can be manufactured with the use of exotic timber veneer species, finished to the highest standard and look fabulous with modern ironmongery.
Timber veneer is a thin layer of timber that is carefully shaved from the outer skin of a log normally at a uniform thickness 1mm thick. Timber veneer is from a natural and renewable resource and is the most economical way of utilising the material. Approximately one cubic metre of log produces around 1000 square metres of veneer. The same veneer material can be cut in a number of ways known as Crown, Quarter, Rotary, Birdseye and Burr cuts.
Once a veneer has been cut there are a number of methods to join these materials together which are known as Book, Slip, Mismatching/ Random and Reverse matching.
